Kids Help Phone and PayPal will be conducting a session at ArtezInterAction on September 29th called “Young People Want to Give – Attracting Younger Donors to Your Cause” This week, we invited Ted Kaiser, VP Information and Technology at Kids Help Phone and Nicky Mezo, Head of Marketing at PayPal Canada to talk about this upcoming session on how nonprofits can successfully engage younger donors online.

As a youth-serving organization, Kids Help Phone understands that engaging young people in support of their services is an important dimension of their fundraising efforts. If only you had access to a mobile application that would allow you to use your Smartphone to instantaneously pull up your personal fundraising pledge page. If only your charity had adopted an app, so any lovely conversation would translate into immediate dollars...

 

Imagine this scenario: you're out for lunch with a friend. He mentions being a fan of the cause for whom you're running a race this weekend. In fact he promises a pretty decent pledge toward your efforts. Two other friends stopping by also commit to equally decent pledges. You're feeling great. There's only one problem: you have no way of finalizing the transactions. "Email us the link when you get to your desk," were the last words you heard wafting from the table as you all took your leave.
