Special Message for Haiti Relief

By May 7, 2010

Many of our clients are providing assistance and relief to the people of Haiti following the earthquake on January 12, 2010. We know that the first 72 hours after a disaster are critical in recruiting aid and support for an organization.

We have maintained 100% up-time & speed during this period of heavy web traffic. Artez Interactive follows a Pandemics & Emergencies Protocol that ensures our clients can experience normal operations during high volume events.

The web is an important direct response channel. In the first three and a half days after the December 2004 tsunami disaster, Canadians donated $20 million to the Canadian Red Cross, CARE Canada, Oxfam Canada , UNICEF Canada, and World Vision. Of that amount, $12 million (60%) came in over the internet.*

If your charity is involved in fundraising for the Haiti relief effort, we are on call to support you in your emergency donation appeals during this time.

If you are utilizing your web site to allow visitors to make fast, secure donations, we recommend that you also enable tools inside our system like your mobile donation pages, and social networking widgets, to allow your volunteers and supporters to spread your messages on their personal networks.

Adding fund designation to a direct donation:

If you would like to add "Haiti Earthquake Relief" as a designation option for your donors, add a drop-down or multiple choice question to your page under User Defined Fields inside the system. If you have any questions about setting up fund designation, please contact us at: support@e2rm.com

Creating a personal fundraising campaign:

In addition to giving supporters a direct donation option on your web site, you also may want to also present the option to personally fundraise for Haiti.

Using the tools inside our system, you can create a "fundraise to support this emergency" inside the event/campaign template.

If you have any questions about setting up a campaign with personal pages for your supporters to collect donations, please give us a call: support@e2rm.com

Donor information is hosted at Q9: Artez servers are hosted in Toronto at Q9 networks (www.q9.com). Q9 data centres are engineered to eliminate any single point of failure, with multiple layers of redundancy in power systems, HVAC, and fire detection and suppression.

Artez maintains PCI Level 1 certification: The requirements for the Level One PCI Compliance certification are stringent and must be updated, reviewed and submitted for re-certification on a yearly basis. PCI Level 1 designation is for merchants processing over 6 million Visa transactions annually. Artez achieves yearly certification.

For more information about preparing your organization for donations during emergencies or pandemics, please review & share our Charities, Emergencies, & Pandemics session document (.pdf)

If you have questions about how Artez can support you during this critical period, please email us at clientdelight@artez.com.
