Appreciate the people that dedicate their time and energy to good causes!

Value your volunteers and appreciate all their help?

There is no better time to say thank you than today. The week of April 15-21 Toronto is celebrating National Volunteer Week 2012.

What is National Volunteer Week?

Every year, one week in April is dedicated to acknowledge the time and effort contributed by volunteers across Canada.

How did National Volunteer Week begin?

The history of National Volunteer Week ( dates back to 1943. Women's Voluntary Services organized special events in major Canadian cities to highlight the enormous help women provided to the soldiers during the Second World War on the home front.

In the 1960s, this recognition was extended to include all community volunteers and in 1990 the third week in April was officially christened National Volunteer Week.

How did we celebrate it here at Artez?

Recently we had Shane Howarth, Digital Communications Specialist, Second Harvest, as a guest speaker for our webinar. Shane shared his insights on how to create a very effective Social Media campaign utilizing the power of volunteers.

National Volunteer week comes to its end tomorrow, but it doesn't mean you have to wait until next April to thank people who generously grant their energy, time and dedication to you.
