Outside of business hours, the place you’ll most likely find Sultana Serfaty is the Spanish Club of Toronto, a grassroots community organization that promotes Spanish culture and organizes social events for elderly newcomers in particular.

“I like to help others whenever possible, and I enjoy very much doing it,” says the software developer, who volunteers to organize social events and assists students with their mathematics, French and Spanish assignments. For her volunteer efforts, Sultana was awarded the Ontario Volunteer Service Award, granted by the provincial government for outstanding commitment to the Spanish Club. Sultana studied computer science at the Control Data Institute and works at Artez on application development.
